Perception of the target population on the risk of disease
The SAGE Evidence-to-Recommendation assessment concluded that community understanding and perception of typhoid as a public-health issue varies by setting. In higher-burden settings, stakeholders raised concern about leaving young children unprotected if primary vaccination were delayed, suggesting that early-life disease risk is salient in some contexts. However, these findings are indirect and are based primarily on programme and expert perspectives rather than representative studies of the target population.Go to footnote 1
