Abstract
Article published in "Actualité et dossier en santé publique" (ADSP) – Prevention and Public health, n°83, June 2013. ADSP is a publication of the French High Council for Public Health. Vaccination is the most effective preventive action. But in France vaccines are required for certain diseases and recommended for others. Maintaining or not this requirement in the general population is part of a societal choice that deserves discussion.
