Abstract

Due to the recent evolution of the epidemiology of chikungunya (CHIK), an infectious disease due to an arbovirus, the territorial expansion of its transmission vector of the genus Aedes, the improvement of knowledge around its clinical consequences and the recent availability of vaccine preventive measures, the HAS initiates the development of a vaccination strategy with vaccines available in the prevention of CHIK.

The main objective of this work is the development of a vaccination strategy against CHIK, in i) subjects aged 12 years and over residing in France, concerned by a situation of re-emergence or emergence of CHIK, (ii) professionals manipulating CHIKV in the context of their professional activity, and (iii) agents of vector control.

This work will be based on critical analysis of the literature and a multidisciplinary working group.

The evaluation will take into account several dimensions, structured through seven criteria: the health issue, the benefit/risk balance of vaccines, economic valuation, feasibility, ethics and equity, the values and preferences of the target population, and the acceptability of stakeholders.
