The 2025 NITAG Maturity Assessment Report presents the follow‑up evaluation of 19 National Immunization Technical Advisory Groups (NITAGs) in the WHO Eastern Mediterranean Region using the NITAG Maturity Assessment Tool (NMAT). Compared to the 2023 baseline, countries demonstrated substantial progress across nearly all seven indicators of NITAG functionality, with marked improvements in independence and non‑bias, operations, and stakeholder recognition. Basic‑level performance sharply declined across indicators, while many NITAGs advanced into intermediate, advanced, or leading‑edge maturity levels. The regional average criteria score increased from 56% in 2023 to 77% in 2025, reflecting strong commitment to strengthening governance, evidence‑based decision-making, and policy integration. The report highlights how targeted capacity building, active implementation of improvement plans, and enhanced regional support contributed to these gains, and it encourages countries to continue improvements and consider external assessments to further strengthen objectivity and performance.
