Abstract
The epidemiological situation of pneumococcal disease in Belgium has changed in recent years. In 2024, the number of cases rose to 2,120 – the highest in ten years. In this scientific advisory report, the Superior Health Council therefore formulates revised recommendations on pneumococcal vaccination for adults. This version replaces report 9674 ‘Vaccination against pneumococcal disease (adults)’ from 2022.
