Abstract

Should varicella (-containing) vaccine be recommended over no vaccination in immunocompetent children (≥9 months of age) to  prevent varicella disease? 

Population: Immunocompetent children (≥9 months of age) 

Intervention: Vaccination with varicella vaccine (monovalent varicella vaccine or tetravalent vaccine containing measles, rubella, mumps and varicella strains (MMRV)) 

Comparison(s): Placebo/no vaccination 

Outcome: Clinical or laboratory-confirmed varicella disease (all grades of severity)
