Bio

Dr. Adel Salman AlSayyad is a public health leader and consultant from the Kingdom of Bahrain with extensive expertise in epidemiology, disease control, and immunization. Dr. AlSayyad served as the Chief of the Disease Control Section at Bahrain's Ministry of Health from 2010 to 2023, where he was a key figure in the national response to communicable diseases, including the COVID-19 pandemic.

He holds an Family Medicine Board and an MSc in Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and is an Associate Professor of Family and Community Medicine at the Arabian Gulf University. Dr. AlSayyad has been a long-standing and active member of Bahrain's National Immunization Technical Committee (NITAG) since 2010, contributing significantly to the development of national vaccine policies and strategic plans for disease elimination. His career is distinguished by a strong commitment to public health practice, research, and education.
