Summer 25 is unusually busy and we have two great announcements for you!
- We launched the Vaccine Evidence Compendium, now integrated into the NITAG Resource Center, featuring evidence on three vaccines: RSV, HPV, and Hexavalent. You can access it here👉: https://www.nitag-resource.org/compendium.
The next addition—PCV—will be released in conjunction with the WHO position paper in September 2025.
- A valuable opportunity is now open for NITAG members to sit on a SAGE working group: the Call for Nominations to join the SAGE Working Group on Pertussis Vaccines is live. Applications are being accepted until the end of August. COVID-19
- The Belgian Vaccination Strategy against COVID-19 (Season 2025-2026) is out and available here.
- JCVI (UK NITAG) issued a statement on the COVID-19 vaccination programmes for autumn 2026 and spring 2027, available here.
Influenza
- The Belgian NITAG issued its vaccination strategy against seasonal flu, available in French and Dutch.
- JCVI released its statement about flu vaccines for the 2026 to 2027 influenza season, available here.
- France revised its vaccination strategy for pandemic influenza. The revised strategy is available in French here.
RSV
- JCVI issued a statement on the extension of the respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) immunisation programme for older adults, available here.
Chikungunya
- JCVI issued a statement on the use of chikungunya vaccines in UK travellers, available here.
HPV
- WHO EMRO released a new series of videos, available in Arabic, English and French, that highlight the lived experiences of individuals affected by Human Papillomavirus (HPV) and cervical cancer. These powerful stories aim to raise awareness about the importance of HPV vaccination in preventing cervical cancer and other HPV-related diseases. SAGE
- The next SAGE meeting will be in September 22-25 and all NITAG members are welcome to listen in. The agenda is available here. If you want to be added to the NITAG-SAGE mailing list or if you are not sure you are in, please reach out.
Vaccinology course
- ADVAC: the applications for ADVAC 2026 are now open. The course will be held from 11 to 22 May 2026 in Annecy, France. For more details on the application process, check the ADVAC website. The application deadline is 15 November 2025, and successful candidates will be notified by early February 2026.
