Abstract
A few updates to flag:
- We upgraded the compendium to include a vaccine comparison table for RSV, Hexa and HPV. You can filter by vaccines currently in your program and/or products you are considering. The PCV page will come end of September along with the WHO position paper.
- An important survey on vaccine portfolio optimization options is open until September 15. It is being conducted by the Center for Vaccinology at the University of Geneva together with VEDA Global Health and Ipsos, in collaboration with the Global NITAG Network and other partners. 👉 Click here to begin.
- We are still waiting for the final approval to organize the GNN webinar, tentative dates are now November 25-27th.
RSV
- ATAGI (Australian NITAG) issued a statement on Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) immunisation products and prevention of administration errors. This statement provides guidance on actions following inadvertent administration of the incorrect product, as well as clinical guidance. The statement is available here.
PCV
- STIKO (German NITAG) conducted an analysis based on a dynamic transmission model to evaluate the epidemiological and health economic effects of different vaccination strategies with pneumococcal vaccines in children in Germany. The object of investigation is the use of 13-, 15- and 20-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccines (PCV). The project results are intended to support the deliberations and, if necessary, decision-making in the Standing Committee on Vaccination (STIKO). The report is available in German here.
Chinkungunya
- STIKO issued their recommendation on vaccination against chikungunya, available in English here.
Hep B
- The LES-NITAG (Lesotho) issued their recommendation on the introduction of a Hepatitis B vaccine birth dose, available here.
Mpox:
- STIKO made adjustments to the Mpox recommendations, available in German here.
Influenza

GNN
- The survey on off label recommendations circulated on December 2024 was analyzed by the Public Health Agency of Canada with the support of the GNN secretariat and steering committee members Awnish and Simona. This work resulted in the publication “Exploring off-label vaccine use: a survey of the global national immunization technical advisory group network” published here.
- The next GNN webinar “SAGE digest” is scheduled for October 2nd 2025 at 2pm Geneva time.
SAGE
- The next SAGE meeting will be in September 22-25 and all NITAG members are welcome to listen in. The agenda is available here. If you want to be added to the NITAG-SAGE mailing list or if you are not sure you are in, please reach out.
