Annually, flu vaccination recommendations are established in autumn-winter in those population groups with a higher risk of complications if they suffer from the infection flu and in people who can transmit the disease to others who are at high risk of complications. Since the 2021-2022 season, flu vaccination has coincided with vaccination against COVID-19.
The objective of vaccination against influenza and COVID-19 is to reinforce the protection of most vulnerable people and health and social health personnel to reduce morbidity and mortality and the impact of these diseases on the capacity of health and social health care. Taking into account the current epidemiological situation of COVID-19, vaccination is recommended during the autumn-winter season (2023-2024) to the target population groups that are specified below.
