Vaccination against rabies and evaluation of the immune response in humans

In Spain, vaccination against rabies is not a systematic vaccination and, therefore, it is not included in the life-course vaccination schedule. However, there are certain circumstances in which the administration of this vaccine is recommended, before exposure to the virus (pre-exposure prophylaxis) or after (post-exposure prophylaxis). The vaccination recommendations in these two circumstances are detailed below.
