Rubella vaccines: WHO position paper

This document replaces the first rubella vaccine position paper published in the Weekly Epidemiological Record in May 2000.
It incorporates the most recent developments in the field of rubella vaccines, in order to provide updated guidance on the introduction and use of rubella containing vaccines in national immunization schedules.
Recommendations on the use of rubella vaccines were discussed by SAGE at its meeting in April 2011. Evidence presented at the meeting can be accessed at http://www.who.int/immunization/sage/previous/en/index.html.
