Revision of the rotavirus vaccine strategy and the place of Rotarix and RotaTeq vaccines

In order to prevent gastroenteritis in infants, the french NITAG recommends the vaccination against rotavirus for all infants aged 6 weeks to 6 months, using a two-dose (at 2 and 3 months of life) vaccination schedule for the monovalent vaccine (Rotarix) and three doses (at 2, 3 and 4 months of life) for the pentavalent vaccine (RotaTeq) and the strict compliance with this vaccination schedule in order to ensure the completeness of the vaccination schedule before the age limit (6 months for Rotarix and 8 months for RotaTeq).
