Abstract

The National Immunization Committee, CNI, was formed in the year 2000, with representatives of scientific societies, professional health associations and the Association of Faculties of Medicine of the university system. It is one of the committees that works regularly and its contribution is invaluable, the most relevant milestones are:

  • The introduction of new vaccines in the national schedule, such as the SRP, pentavalent, yellow fever, rotavirus, seasonal and pandemic influenza, 13-valent pneumococcal, IPVf and HPV.
  • Certification of measles, rubella and CRS elimination and sustainability plan
  • Within the framework of the global eradication of Polio, the preparation of the plan to replace tOPV with bOPV, the introduction of IPV and the Polio Containment Plan.
  • Spokesperson in mass campaigns and crisis situations, acting as leaders of currents of opinion in the different media.
