Abstract

As part of the improvement of the vaccine offer and the improvement of the vaccination course of people, the Director General of Health (DGS) seized the High Authority of Health (HAS) in order to define the extension of skills in terms of vaccination to nurses, pharmacists and midwives for vaccines intended for adolescents (over 16) and adults.

HAS recommends that nurses, pharmacists and midwives be authorized to prescribe and administer non-live vaccines included in the vaccination schedule for people aged 16 and over, with the exception of immunocompromised people whose vaccination schedules may be different: Diphtheria-Tetanus-Pertussis-Poliomyelitis; Human Papillomavirus / Pneumococcus; Hepatitis B ; hepatitis A ; Meningococci A, C, W, Y and influenza. Vaccines against meningococcal B and rabies are not concerned, which relate to specific and rare situations.

HAS imposes two conditions: first ensure that these professionals have undergone training, and if possible interdisciplinary training; and strengthen and improve the traceability of vaccination by setting up an electronic vaccination card used by all.
