Abstract

The Costa Rican National Committee for Vaccination and Epidemiology (CNVE) held an extraordinary meeting on the 3rd December 2015. The topic of discussion was the introduction of the monovalent vaccine against rotavirus in the national schedule, based on a cost-effectiveness study recently conducted in the country.

The results of this study were presented to representatives of the National Social Security (CCSS) at the ordinary meeting of the CNVE on February 2016. Further discussions are currently being held to assess the economic feasibility of rotavirus vaccine introduction (procurement and sustainability).
