Considerations for pneumococcal vaccination in older adults

This concept note, on pneumococcal vaccination in older adults, is a departure from a traditional position paper. This is because, while data were being collected for a position paper, it became evident that there was an inadequate evidence base, especially in low- and middle-income countries, specifically related to burden of disease and serotype distribution. This concept note, therefore, summarizes existing evidence, highlights the information gaps, and provides guidance based on the available evidence.
