Abstract

Influenza : 

  • NACI (Canadian NITAG) issued their Statement on seasonal influenza vaccines for 2025-2026. The full statement can be found here and a summary here.

Human zoonotic influenza vaccines:

  • The French NITAG published its recommendations on the H5N1 zoonotic influenza, available in French here.

If other NITAGs are making recommendation on H5, please inform us as we are tracking these recommendations.

PCV:

  • The French NITAG published its framework note in view of reviewing the the vaccination strategy against invasive pneumococcal infections in infants, children and adults. The note is available in French here.  

RSV:

  • STIKO (German NITAG) extended the standard and indicated adult vaccination against RSV to include an mRNA vaccine, available here in German.

Polio:

  • Sana's NITAG (North Yemen) recommended the use of nOPV2. 

Health economics for NITAGs:

  • A new training module is available here on health economics. It is meant to be delivered in person but we are working on the online version.
  • WHO EMRO organized a webinar on health economics and the recording is available here.

People who are immunocompromised:

  • ATAGI (Australian NITAG), with the support of NCIRS, revised the section of the Australian Immunisation handbook dedicated to people who are immunocompromised. The revised section is available here.

Travel vaccination:

  • STIKO along with the German Society for Tropical Medicine issued their recommendations on travel vaccination, available in German here.

ACIP:

  • The presentation slides from the April 15-16 meeting are available here, including presentations on Mpox, Influenza, COVID-19 vaccines, HPV, CMV vaccines, Meningococcal Vaccines, RSV for adults and maternal/pediatrics and Chikungunya Vaccines. 

SAGE:

  • The RSV Position Paper is expected to be published on 30 May 2025 - stay tune.

WHO

  • WHO invites comments on the WHO Evidence Considerations for Vaccine Policy Development (ECVP) for Group B Streptococcal Vaccines Intended for Pregnant People.

  • With support from a dedicated working group, the GNN is developing the NITAG Online Learning Journey - a 12-week, self-paced course featuring weekly one-hour sessions with subject matter experts.
