Asoc.Prof. Dace Zavadska is a paediatric infectious diseases specialist and since 2016 takes the position of the Chair of the State Immunization Council (NITAG) under Ministry of Health of Latvia. She works as senior PID specialist and the Head of Family Vaccination Centre under Children Clinical University Hospital, Riga, Latvia and is an associate professor in Riga Stradins University. Prof. Zavadska is also a consultant and keeps active membership in organisations related to vaccines and vaccination strategies. She has completed her M.D. and PhD degree from the Riga Stradins University, Riga, Latvia. She has an in-depth understanding of various aspects of immunization and it’ s programs in Latvia and Europe.
Currently she is also a consultant for Centre of Disease Prevention and Control of Latvia for state projects regarding vaccine preventable diseases, keeps active membership in organisations related to vaccines and vaccination strategies, and is a core member of EU/EEA NITAGs group at ECDC. She is a leading researcher-scientific project manager in several ongoing studies regarding vaccines and vaccine-controlled infections.
Until appointment to the position of the GNN chair, Prof. Zavadska held the position of the EURO representative at the GNN steering committee.
