It is our pleasure to invite you to Madrid, Spain, from May 23-27, 2017, for the 35th Annual Meeting of the European Society for Paediatric Infectious Diseases (ESPID). Together with the Local Organising Committee and the International Scientific Committee, we have prepared an exciting programme with hot topics covering the entire field of paediatric infection-related dise​ase​s, and involving a large number of internationally renowned experts.

PLENARY SESSIONS​ ​​highlighting specific Paediatric Infectious Diseases topics/breaking news with outstanding speakers​.

MEET THE PROFESSOR SESSIONS covering a broad range of Paediatric Infectious Diseases​ topics, each chaired by senior experts in an interactive setting.

​INTERACTIVE CASE SESSION on clinical aspects of diagnosis and therapy of paediatric infectious diseases. Internationally recognised experts will prepare, present and discuss case reports of children with common or unusual infectious diseases.

​WALTER MARGET EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOP 
E​very year ESPID sponsors an educational workshop for 50 trainees at the Annual Meeting. The workshop is clinically oriented and interaction between trainees and faculty is strongly encouraged. The goals and obje​ct​ives are:

  • ​​To discuss, in depth, management ​of infectious diseases in children
  • To promote best clinical practise for management of paediatric infections
  • To give trainees the opportunity to present clinical cases of infections for discussion
  • ​To enable trainees to meet experts in the field as well as colleagues from other countries and share their experiences​

​ESPID RESEARCH MASTERCLASS 
The ESPID research Masterclass (ERMC) is a seminar type of forum for active paediatric infectious disease groups in Europe. The aims are:​

  • T​o provide​ opportuniti​e​s to young researchers to present their studies and discuss with other junior researchers, as well as with senio​r investigators from ESPID
  • ​To provide participants with a  broad overview of current research projects within ESPID
  • ​To ​​enhance opportunities for future collaboration between groups.

​BILL MARSHALL LECTURE & AWARD offered by ESPID to one of its senior members for their contributions to PID in general and to ESPID in particular.

    Read the agenda of the Global Immunization Meeting

    The three-day meeting is scheduled for 23rd to 25th June 2015 in Sitges, Spain and will be co-hosted by WHO Headquarters, the WHO European Region, and UNICEF. The meeting will combine plenary and parallel workshop sessions on key EPI topics. Keynote addresses will further investigate overriding meeting themes for each day.
    Workshop facilitators have developed objectives and a proposed structure with expected outcomes for the relevant sessions and feedback will be provided and discussed in plenary by workshop rapporteurs. On the final day of the meeting a summary of the main meeting outcomes will be given and next steps identified which will be required to advance the global immunization agenda.

    Get ready for the next GNN meeting and read the 2016 report

    The Global NITAG Network will meet in June 28th - 29th, 2017 in Berlin. The Organizing Committee composed of representatives of the Robert Koch Institute (as the hosting institutions), AMP-HPID, US CDC, WHO and representatives from the NITAG network are currently developing the meeting agenda. Last year report can be downloaded to get prepared for this year meeting and get familiarized with the NITAG members.
